United… tonight!

Tonight our youth group won’t be meeting at our church, but with 9 other youth groups from our area. This is called “United Youth”, and we do it about every 3 months. Our last one was in January, when we had 7 youth groups from several denominations, including a Catholic youth group, which was great. I must admit, it was rather humorous watching the Catholic kids as they REALLY didn’t know what to make of the worship band that was playing, loudly, and kids were jumping up and down and singing, again–loudly. You mean kids can praise God, have fun and ENJOY Christian music? Ummm… yep! I can’t wait until tonight. Leaders have to be there 45 minutes early… which means the kids I bring with me get to hang out outside until 6:45 but hey they’re old enough. The whole purpose of United Youth is to cross denominational lines and bring teens outside of their box, to realize that they aren’t the only ones in the valley who love the Lord and are striving to serve Him. This group of youth pastors meet together each week, to pray for each other and fellowship, and United is an outflowing of that. It really is amazing to see this many Christian kids together in one place…. very cool! Check out a Short Vid of United!
